The Idemili North Local Government secretariat and a Magistrate Court in Ogidi were both set on fire by suspected gunmen.
According to sources, the gunmen entered the secretariat on Sunday night to continue the act, destroying all files and property in the secretariat, including the secretariat building.
The whole buildings were reduced to rubbles, and vehicles parked within the Local Government secretariat were also burned to ashes, according to videos and photos circulating online.

The State Police Command has also acknowledged the incident, blaming it on unknown gunmen.
“Yes, the event was confirmed, and our guys were there to restore normality,” said DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, a spokeswoman for the State Police Command.
“Right now, the fire has been put off, and calm has been restored to the area,” Ikenga told Newsmen.
