Deborah Samuel’s parents have characterized her death as tragic and heartbreaking, stating they had left her killers to God. Deborah Samuel was a student at Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, Sokoto State.
Deborah’s body was put to rest at her village of Tungan Magajiya in Niger State’s Rijau Local Government Area on Saturday evening.
Her classmates assassinated her and set her ablaze on Thursday for reportedly making a derogatory speech about Prophet Mohammad in a WhatsApp group.
In response to their daughter’s death, the heartbroken parents stated that they had nothing to say or do about it, and that they have opted to put everything in God’s hands.
Her father, Mr Emmanuel Garba, a security guard with the Niger State Water Works Cooperation at Tungan-Magajiya said, “We can’t say or do anything, except to take it easy as an act of God. We have left all to God, we have decided to take it like that.”
