The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is said to have postponed presidential primaries and other events ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The primaries for candidates running for Houses of Assembly, which were originally scheduled for today, have been rescheduled.

Primary elections for other seats have also been changed by the main opposition party.

Meanwhile, the PDP has yet to declare a new date for the primaries to begin.

According to a party official who spoke with The Guardian, a meeting has been scheduled for 9:00 p.m. on Friday to determine the new dates.

In other news, Ebenezer Babatope, a former Transportation Minister, has disclosed how the PDP might unseat the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 presidential election.

Prior to the PDP’s presidential primary poll on May 28, the party’s leader advised against activities that might jeopardize the party’s chances in 2023.

Babatope asked party members and presidential candidates to make the presidential primary fair and legitimate.

In a statement sent to the media on Thursday, the former minister said the PDP’s primary must be structured in such a way that the best candidate emerges as the flagbearer.
