Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and a presidential candidate in 2023, has addressed a letter to former President Goodluck Jonathan regarding his alleged interest in the presidency in 2023.

As political parties prepare for primaries to choose candidates for the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, suspicions about Jonathan decamping to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and running for president on the party’s platform have persisted.

Though Jonathan has declined to declare his interest in the 2023 election on multiple occasions, some political observers believe that he and the APC are in talks, and that the former president might wind up being a surprise contender.

Professor Moghalu, however, has questioned what Jonathan appears to have neglected at Aso Rock and is so eager to return to pick up.

Moghalu informed Jonathan on his Twitter account early Wednesday morning that there is no vacancy at Aso Rock since he will be the one in charge come 2023.

However, the presidential candidate running on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform vowed to return to Jonathan everything he seeks in Aso Rock.

He wrote: “It seems ex-President @GEJonathan forgot something in Aso Rock he is angling to go back and pick up. He shouldn’t bother. I will find whatever it is and mail it to him when I am the tenant there from May 2023.”
