After failing to acquire a House of Representatives ticket for the Kaduna North Federal Constituency, Adam Namadi, the son of former Vice President Namadi Sambo, has allegedly asked delegates to refund him for the N2 million each he provided them.

Adams Namadi had planned to run on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, the opposition party (PDP).

Despite supposedly offering to add N1.5 million to the money allotted to each of the delegates if given the ticket, Namadi earned the least votes of the three candidates.

Samaila Suleiman, a sitting federal member, defeated Namadi and Shehu Usman ABG to win the ticket.

Suleiman, who just moved from the ruling APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), won with 22 votes against Shehu Usman’s 14.

Suleiman distributed between N3.5m and N4m to each delegate, according to delegates who talked with Newsmen, while ABG distributed N2.5 million in cash and Namadi distributed N2 million.

However, both ABG and Namadi demanded a complete refund after losing the competition.

When Governor Nasir el-son Rufai’s indicated interest in taking his position in the green chambers, Suleiman, the Chairman of the House Committee on Special Duties, left the APC.
