Dino Melaye, a former senator from Kogi West, has stated that despite losing the PDP primary poll, which terminated his attempt to return to the Senate, he is still a winner.

Dino Melaye stated his winner’s status is not related to any election since it is his eternal inheritance in a message uploaded on his Instagram page on Wednesday morning.

Dino Melaye also expressed his pride in working with Atiku Abubakar, whom he regarded as a real patriot, consummate humanitarian, and ardent unifier.

Dino Melaye further stated that no one should make a mistake because he will not abandon his intentions.

He wrote: “I am a winner. My winner’s status is not tied to any election. It is my eternal heritage. Dino is Dino. I am very proud to be associated with Atiku Abubakar. A true Patriot, consumate humanitarian and passionate Unifier. Don’t make a mistake Dino is coming. SDM”

Dino Melaye was beaten in the primaries by Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf, a three-term member of the House of Representatives who represents the Kabba/Bunu Ijumu Federal district, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

Yusuf received 163 votes from delegates to win the PDP ticket for the Kogi West Senatorial Constituency, while Melaye received 99 votes.

Prior to the decisive votes on Tuesday, Melaye and Yusuf matched with 88 votes on Monday, while another candidate, Sam Aro, received 72 votes to force the primary into a run-off.

At this moment, Aro’s supporters opted to join forces with Yusuf, giving the House of Representatives member block votes to defeat Melaye.
