Harira Jubril, a pregnant mother who was allegedly slain along with her four children by unknown gunmen, has been buried in Anambra State.
On Sunday, the lady and her children were killed in Isulo, Orumba North Local Government Area of the state.
Sarki Kabiru Bakari, the chairman of the Hausa Community in Orunba, Anambra’s south-central region, told Daily Trust that the victims’ bodies were discovered on Tuesday evening.
The intention to transport the bodies to their homeland of Adamawa was canceled, according to Bakari, since the bodies were not properly cared for in the morgue.

He went on to say that the bodies would not survive the journey to the north.
Bakari said, “We have now decided to bury them in Awka Wednesday (today). The mortuary attendant did not treat the corpses, no preservation measure was done; hence we cannot travel with the corpses as they have already started decomposing. We have no other option than to take them to Awka and bury them there.”
He noted that security personnel had been deployed in the area and that the Anambra State police commissioner has visited them and assured them of swinging into action.
Bakari added, “But after we bury the victims, we will all relocate to our hometown in the North; we are no longer safe here. The husband of the woman will also relocate back to Adamawa as soon as he has buried his family; he is working here as a security guard.”
