The lawmaker representing Nnewi North in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor has emerged as the candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) for Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency.
Nonso Smart Okafor’s emergence was following his victory today, Friday, 27th May, 2023, at the APC primary election, where defeated Rt. Hon. Rita Mmaduagwu, the immediate past Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, and Paul Ezeobi.
Anambra Lawmakers Speak Highly Of Nonso Okafor As He Declares Governor
Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor polled 140 votes to beat his closest rival Rt. Hon. Rita Mmaduagwu who polled 36 votes and Hon. Paul Ezeobi who got 2 votes.
Some of the national officers of the party and the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agents were on the ground on the occasion to coordinate the activities during the exercise.
