The family of famed gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu, best known for her tune “Ekwueme,” has allegedly scheduled her funeral for June 25, 2022.

Remember that on April 8th, the gospel singer died after her spouse reportedly abused her.

According to reports, the talented singer’s family has requested that his remains be buried at her father’s compound in Isuochi, Abia State, rather than her husband’s home.

Osinachi’s family is reportedly considering repaying the singer’s bridal money, according to BBC Igbo.

This comes after the Federal government filed 23 counts of accusations against the late gospel singer’s husband, Peter.

Sections 104 and 379 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 were used by the Attorney-General of the Federation to prosecute Peter.

Peter was charged with culpable homicide contrary to section 221 of the Penal Code which is punishable with death.

The case with charge number, CR/199/2022, was filed at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on May 20, 2022, by the Head, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, Department of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Ministry of Justice, Mrs Yewande Gbola-Awopetun.
