Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra, has chosen the Labour Party’s presidential ticket.

This comes after Prof. Pat Utomi, another presidential candidate on the party’s platform, backed Obi, who only joined the party last week.

On Monday, at the location of the party’s presidential primaries in Delta, Utomi, a famous professor of political economy, stood aside and backed Obi.

However, Anaedoonline.ng has learned that Utomi played a key role in Obi’s decision to defect from the PDP to the Labour Party.

“Prof Utomi brought Peter Obi to Labour Party in the first place and he has now endorsed him,” a source had told Newsmen on Monday.

Orchid Hotels, GRA, Asaba, the state capital, will host the main event today (Monday).

Following the 3rd Force Movement’s selection of the Labour Party as the alternative ‘Big Tent’ for the 2023 elections, the National Consultative Front, NCFront, called on additional leaders of conscience in the country to join the Labour Party as soon as possible.

The 3rd Force Movement was founded to provide a powerful platform to oppose the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), both of whom have had chances to rule Nigeria but have failed.
