Methodist Prelate, Samuel Kanu Recounts Ordeal In Kidnappers’ Den (Video)

His Eminence, Samuel Kanu-Uche, Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, has recalled his suffering in prison.

Kanu-Uche was abducted by unknown gunmen along the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway in Abia State’s Umunneochi Local Government Area on Sunday, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

The gunmen also kidnapped the Bishop of Owerri, Rt. Rev. Dennis Mark, and the Prelate’s chaplain, according to reports.

The Methodist Prelate and other hostages, however, were released on Monday after the terrorists demanded N100 million in exchange for their release.

Kanu-Uche, who spoke in Igbo following his release, expressed gratitude to Governors Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia and Hope Uzodinma of Imo states for assisting him.

The cleric made this known while addressing some members of his congregation at the Methodist Cathedral, Ihube in Imo State on Monday.

Kanu-Uche also commended Nigerians all over the country and the Christian community for praying for his release.
