Buhari Set To Reveal Preferred Candidate As He Reveals Date To Meet APC Presidential Aspirants

In the absence of unforeseen circumstances, President Muhammadu Buhari will meet with all APC presidential candidates on Sunday (APC).

The President is expected to disclose his favored presidential candidate during the meeting, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

Buhari will leave for Ghana today (Saturday), according to a top federal government official, and return later in the day.

President Buhari is set to meet with PDP presidential candidates on Saturday night or Sunday, according to a source who talked to Newsmen.

According to this online daily, the APC presidential screening committee delivered its findings to the party’s leadership on Friday afternoon.

Former APC national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, who headed the committee, stated that only 13 from the 23 candidates were cleared to participate in the primary.

According to Odigie-Oyegun, only youthful aspirants made the list of aspirants cleared.

Anaedoonline.ng reports that those vying for the APC ticket are; former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, other aspirants are the Senate President Ahmad Lawan and former ministers Rotimi Amaechi, Ogbonnaya Onu, Godswill Akpabio, and Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba.

Serving governors who are also aspiring to be president are Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Yahaya Bello (Kogi), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), Ben Ayade (Cross River) and Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa).

Others are former Senate President Ken Nnamani, former House of Representatives Speaker, Dimeji Bankole, and serving senators Ibikunle Amosun, Ajayi Boroffice, and Rochas Okorocha.
