The Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), Awka, Prof. Oby Lillian Orogbu, has clinched the Labour Party ticket for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, ahead of the 2023 general election.
Prof. Lilian defeated her rivals, Hon. Engr. Chinedum Samuel Onwuaso, who is current lawmaker representing Awka North and South in the House of Representatives and Hon. Nnamdi Okafor, who is currently representing Awka South 1 in Anambra State House of Assembly.

Prof. Oby polled seven (7) votes to defeat Hon. Nnamdi Okafor and Hon. Samuel Onwuaso who got two (2) votes and one (1) vote respectively, at the primaries which held at Beautiful Gate Hotel, Awka.
Prof. Lilian Obiageli Orogbu is a Professor of Strategic Human Resource Management and erudite Scholar who rose meritoriously through the ranks as a trainer of Business Administrators to become a Professor of Business Administration at the prestigious Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.
As the Dean of Unizik Faculty of Management Sciences, she is Chairman, Board of Faculty of Management Sciences; She is Chairman, Postgraduate Studies Committee, and Chief Administrative/Academic Officer of the Faculty of Management Sciences, UNIZIK.
