Owo Terrorists Attack: Tinubu Donates N75m To Victims, Church

Bola Tinubu, a presidential candidate for the year 2023 and the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, paid a visit to the victims of a gunman assault at St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, on Monday.

Tinubu had left delegates, chieftains, and other members of the APC who had come in Abuja for the party’s presidential primary for Ondo State, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

The presidential candidate traveled in Owo to pay a visit to the survivors, who are being treated at an unidentified hospital.

While at the hospital, Tinubu gave N50 million to help with the victims’ care and vowed to address the country’s security concerns if elected President.

Tinubu then paid a visit to some of the deceased’s relatives, who were grieving the loss of their family members and loved ones.

In addition, the previous governor of Lagos State contributed N25 million to the Catholic Church where the event occurred.

During a condolence visit to the Palace of Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye, Tinubu decried the savage attack on innocent worshipers.

He denounced the incident as an evil that must be resisted, stating that such hatred and the indiscriminate killing of innocent people have no place in the country.

Tinubu expressed his sorrow at the terrible tragedy, noting that the South-West had never seen such a large-scale attack before, calling it “horrific.”

The APC national head urged the federal and state governments to work together to improve national security.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State responded by announcing the contribution in the palace of Olowo of Owo and thanking the APC leader.

Tinubu was afterwards taken by the governor for an on-the-spot examination of the attack scene.

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, Chairman of TETFUND, Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, and former APC National Vice Chairman, Southwest, Chief Pius Akinyelure were among the APC officials that joined Tinubu to Owo.

Others include Nuhu Ribadu, the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, and Otunba Femi Pedro, the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State.

Tinubu had earlier reacted to the Owo gruesome killing of innocent Christian worshippers, describing the event as highly reprehensible.
