Mrs Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of former Afenifere leader Chief Reuben Fasoranti, was murdered and her killers were sentenced to death.
After a series of hearings, the three suspects were found guilty by a High Court in Akure on Friday.
Olakunrin was killed by convicts along the Benin-Ore-Shagamu Expressway in the Ore Odigbo Local Government Area of the state in June 2019 while returning from Lagos State, according to Anaedoonline.ng.
Following months of investigation, the killers were apprehended on April 6, 2020, by personnel from the Nigeria Police Force’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

Awalu Abubakar, Muhammed Shehu, and Adamu Adamu are the prisoners.
Meanwhile, the fourth suspect, Auwalu Abubakar, who was accused of aiding and abetting, was discharged by the judge.
In his ruling on Friday, the High Court judge, Justice Williams Olamide found the trio guilty of involving in murder, kidnapping and armed robbery and sentenced them to death.
After delivering his verdict, Justice Olamide urged the government to urgently address the growing insecurity situation in the country which he said had led to many paying the supreme price.
