It was a Thursday night and there was a heavy downpour coupled with thunder and lightning. The sound of the rain on the roof top always sends a sensation all over my body as it acts as lullaby that lures me to sleep. Everywhere was serene and cozy except my neighbor’s German shepherd dog barking and disturbing the neighborhood. My mum is not yet back from work and I had been trying to reach her but her number was not going through.
After several trials I got tired and laid in bed trying to read my favorite book to help me stay awake just immediately thunder struck through the window and my reading lantern fell and shattered. I was cold but too lazy to get up from bed to put on my winter jacket but the sound drew my attention so I seized the opportunity to get down from bed and packed the broken piece and put on my jacket as well. Just then I noticed my window is open and rain droplets penetrated from the window and that almost soaked my books. I became furious and angrily jammed the window then went back to bed but had lost concentration so I dropped my books and reached out for my phone and started trying my mum’s line again but still unreachable.

I carried my book again to read because I needed something to keep me awake and I got to the paragraph where a family relocated to a hunted house and an evil spirit was tormenting their little boy.
The evil spirit later got possession of the boy’s body and he started acting strange. According to the book, the guy appeared unknowingly behind his mum who was making meal in the kitchen with a knife, carefully covering her mouth with his hands and reached out for her throat, his mother gasped in distress and tried releasing herself from his grip, but he was stronger and his heart was already beclouded with evil and all that was left in his eyes was evil and the quest for blood. How could a young lad exhibit such evil? Thinking about the kind of spirit that must have possessed him, fear gripped me that I jerked up screaming and flung the book covering myself with duvet. Everywhere was dark and It was as if the evil spirit was already in the room and already coming close to me as well so I couldn’t help it but screamed again. I started reciting my favorite Bible verse which is in Psalms 21 “even though I walked through the deepest darkness, I shall fear no evil” within me, I knew I was still very scared and I wished someone was in the room with me.

It was as if God heard my secret heart intention and sent my mum’s fiancé who was seeing a movie in the sitting room to come check on me.
