Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has issued a warning to criminals terrorizing the state, saying that their days are numbered.

Soludo requested that they leave the state immediately, stating that they will have no place to hide because security personnel have been able to detect them wherever they are in the state.

Following the search and demolition of a suspected abduction hideaway in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state, Soludo announced this on Saturday.

The governor stated that the demolished structure was being used as a hideout for illegal operations, emphasizing that his government would not allow criminals to reign in the state.

The South-East area, particularly Anambra, has been terrorized by armed hoodlums called “Unknown gunmen.” The Nigerian government has accused the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) of being behind the criminal actions, but the separatist movement, led by Nnamdi Kanu, has denied any affiliation to the armed organization or its activities.

Soludo, on the other hand, stated that his administration was totally committed to ensuring security for all citizens and free movement of individuals without fear of harassment or violence.

He praised residents of the state for providing security authorities with information, noting that everyone is suspicious until their employment is verified to be real.

He emphasized that any structure utilized for illicit activity would be dismantled, and the government would seize the site.

He urged citizens to be security vigilant at all times, emphasizing the need of reporting strangers and criminals operating in their neighborhoods to law enforcement.
