Family members and followers are apparently in communication with terrorists in order to negotiate the release of Rt Rev Oluwaseun Aderogba, the Anglican Communion Bishop of Jebba Diocese, and his wife, who were kidnapped on Sunday.

According to reports, the pastor and his wife were kidnapped last evening along the Ogbomoso-Oyo Road.

The Bishop’s Chaplain, who was with the victims, told the Newsmen about the ambush minutes after escaping.

“My Lord bishop called the Lord bishop of Oyo Bishop Aladekugbe for help.

“However, before help could come, some armed men surrounded and ordered them into the bush. I was lucky. They didn’t see me because of my black cassock.

“I fell flat on my belly to hide myself while they marched my bishop and wife deep into the forest,” the chaplain told reporters.

When Bishop Aladekugbe learned of the situation, he allegedly informed the church’s leadership, including Most Revd Henry Ndukuba and other members of the house of bishops.
