The New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) has announced that discussions with the Labour Party on forming an alliance are proceeding well, with a favourable outcome predicted.

Dr. Agbo Major, the NNPP’s national press secretary, confirmed this.

He indicated that the NNPP’s presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, would not mind serving as the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi’s running mate.

“By the time we are done with the conversations, Nigerians would be delighted, whichever way it goes,” the NNPP’s spokesperson said, adding that Kwankwaso and Obi could tolerate becoming each other’s vice.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, there have been rumors that Peter Obi, who has the support of many southern youths, would run a combined ticket with Kwankwaso, who has a large following in the north.

Rabiu Kwankwaso has announced that his party is in negotiations with the Labour Party’s presidential flag-bearer about forming an alliance.

In an interview with BBC Hausa, the former Kano State Governor verified this.
