See How Nigerians Reacted As APC’s Oyebanji Wins Ekiti Governorship Election

The announcement of Abiodun Oyebanji as the victor of the gubernatorial race in Ekiti State sparked a flurry of reactions.

In the election, Oyebanji, the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, received 187,057 votes after winning 15 of the state’s 16 Local Government Areas.

Segun Oni, the Social Democratic Party’s gubernatorial candidate, finished in second with 82,211 votes, while Bisi Kolawole, the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate, received 67,457 votes.

Professor Kayode Oyebode, the election’s returning officer, pronounced Oyebanji the victor of the gubernatorial race at 3:04 a.m. on Sunday.

The election included a total of 16 contestants. There were 351,865 legitimate votes cast in the election, 8,888 invalid ballots, and 360,753 total votes cast.

However, some Nigerians have taken to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter to express their views regarding Oyebanji’s emergence as the new governor of Ekiti state.
