Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has congratulated Kayode Fayemi, the departing governor of Ekiti State, on the party’s win in the state’s just ended governorship election.
Tinubu said that Fayemi’s leadership style helped the APC regain power in Ekiti State.
Abiodun Oyebanji, the APC’s gubernatorial candidate, was proclaimed the victor of the governorship election after receiving the most votes.

Oyebanji received 187,057 votes, beating out Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party SDP, who received 82,211 votes.
Tinubu, on the other hand, asked the people of the state to keep their trust in the APC.
In a statement by his Media Office, Tinubu said: “I must commend the now outgoing-Governor, Kayode Fayemi, and his team whose progressive leadership in Ekiti made it possible for APC to retain government for the next four years. I am confident that the Governor will finish well and strong.
“While thanking the people of Ekiti once again for standing by APC, I urge them and indeed the generality of Nigerians to continue to maintain their faith and confidence in our party.”
