Mbaka Sends Message To Protesters Against Ban On Adoration Ministry

Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, has distanced himself from the protest over the ministry’s prohibition.

Worshippers at the Adoration Ministry in Enugu protested against the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Callistus Onaga, banning the ministry on Sunday, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

Worshippers flocked to the streets of Umuchigbo, on the outskirts of Enugu city, to protest Most Rev. Ogaga’s ban on the ministry.

Recall that Onaga issued a pastoral injunction on Saturday prohibiting any Catholics from accessing the ministry till further notice in response to the priest’s caustic statement on Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi.

In a statement he personally signed on Monday, Mbaka said he is not in any way involved in the protest against the ban and that he received with obedience the directive of the Bishop.

He appealed to the faithful especially members of the Adoration Ministry to be calm and refrain from measures of violence.

“Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria is ever submissive to the mother Church. I enjoin all Adorers to know this and remain constantly in prayers for the manifestation of the will of God in the life of the Ministry.

Enugu Diocese Has Prohibited Catholics From Participating In Mbaka’s Adoration Ministry

“The life of the Adoration Ministry is in the hands of God under the direction of the Chief Shepherd of the Diocese,” Mbaka’s statement reads in part.
