Gun-wielding hoodlums are said to have blasted the Izombe market in Imo State’s Oguta Local Government Area.

The hoodlums carried out the heinous deed on Monday while allegedly executing the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOBweekly )’s sit-at-home edict, which has since been suspended.

In 2021, IPOB ordered a sit-at-home protest across the South-East and portions of the South-South to demand the unconstitutional release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who had been detained in a facility run by the Nigerian secret police, the Department of State Services (DSS).

The hoodlums were enraged by their defiance and lit two automobiles on fire in the market, causing major chaos before bombing the market.

According to the source, anybody at the market who sensed danger dashed for safety, with several of those attempting to flee being injured in the process.
