ANAMBRA: Joint Troops Attack, Clear Alleged IPOB Camp, Recover Arms, Ammunition

On Sunday, the Nigerian Army announced that a camp belonging to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN) had been cleared at Idara Nnebo, Ihe Mbosi villages, and Ukpor in the Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State by joint operatives made up of the 302 Regiment, Navy, DSS, and police.

According to a statement released on Sunday by Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director Army Public Relations, the troops also found three power generators, two pump action rifles, a locally made gun, three magazines with five rounds of 7.62 mm (special) ammunition, two AK-47 rifles, and three magazines with five rounds of ammunition each.

Similar to this, members of the 103 Battalion carried out a raid operation on the IPOB/ESN camp in Nkwere Inyi Forest in Enugu State’s Oji River Local Government, causing the criminals to escape in confusion.

According to the report, the soldiers found a Toyota Highlander SUV and a Lexus believed to have been taken by thieves.

Two bikes, a double barrel gun, and seven live rounds were also found.

In the statement, the general public was urged to keep sharing reliable information on the local criminal underworld’s activities.
