Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, has denied criticizing Mr. Peter Obi, a former governor of the state and candidate for president of the Labour Party.

Additionally, Soludo denied making any attacks on Chief Victor Umeh, a former national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and senatorial candidate for the Labour Party (LP).

According to reports on Sunday from reliable media outlets, Soludo made fun of APGA members who just defected to the LP.

According to the sources, Soludo, who was speaking to APGA members, claimed that those who defected to the Labour Party would labor in vain.

He said that it was absurd for a party without an elected councilor to assume it could defeat a candidate for president.

Since Obi joined the party, a fresh wave of APGA members has switched to the LP.
However, according to news sources, Soludo’s remarks were directed at Obi and Umeh, who were both once members of the APGA.

However, Soludo said that the claim attributed to his principal was completely untrue and unsubstantiated in a news release sent by his press secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime.

Aburime said: “Our checks reveal the statement was a total misrepresentation by an overzealous reporter who was not among the journalists present when Governor Soludo spoke extempore during his interaction with some audience after his 100 days in office media broadcast.”

He characterized the accusation as an effort by certain errant forces to sow discord between Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, and the party’s leadership.

He asked the general people to ignore the entire statement because Governor Soludo did not make it.
