Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, a street celebrity, finally accepted the Ogun State Police Command’s invitation over the alleged assault on Thursday.

Remember how the state police command threatened to arrest the singer unless the singer reported to the local police station?

After a video went viral showing the artist and some other individuals attacking his former DJ Chicken, the singer was called in.

Ogun Police Orders Portable To Report To Police Station Over Gang Beating

In the viral video, Portable, who spoke Yoruba, instructed the men to attack the DJ for supposedly sending a message to his wife.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state police command’s spokesman, responded by ordering Portable to go to the nearest police station in the state.

The singer has 48 hours to notify the police of his whereabouts.

However, a week after the invitation, Portable reported on Wednesday to the state police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

In a statement made public on Thursday, Oyeyemi said that Portable arrived at work on Wednesday about 5 p.m. with his father and manager.

The spokesperson claimed that after being questioned, portable received bail.

He said, “He was immediately ordered to be taken to the Public Complain Bureau office by the commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, where he was interrogated about his role in the assault melted to the boy in the video.

“However, since the offence committed is a bailable one, and coupled with the strike action embarked upon by the civil servants in the state which also affected our courts, the suspect was released to a reliable surety who promised to produce him anytime he is needed.”

Oyeyemi said DJ Chicken has “also been invited to come and state his side of the story to enable the command complete her investigation on time.”
