Senator Kashim Shettima, a former governor of Borno State, is reportedly Bola Tinubu’s running mate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential race.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Tinubu had already submitted Alhaji Kabiru Masari’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a stand-in for the 2023 general elections.
The deadline provided by INEC for the APC national head to make any substitutions was July 15.
Tinubu Reveals Who To Handover To After Eight Years As President
According to reports over the weekend, Tinubu, who arrived in Nigeria on Friday from France, will reveal the identity of his actual running mate by next Friday.
The Tinubu Campaign Organization (TCO) also stated as much.
For the 2023 election, Tinubu has reportedly decided to select Shettima as his default running mate.
The story backed up the claim made by Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje that the ruling party would run a Muslim-Muslim ticket for president in 2023.
