There are apparently new rifts among party members and leaders as a result of Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, choosing Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate.
Particularly, Anaedoonline.ng is aware that several APC governors who supported Tinubu’s nomination as the party’s presidential candidate for 2023 are reportedly unhappy with Shettima’s selection.
They asserted that the declaration differs from the agreement they had and is evidence of Tinubu’s arrogance, according to people familiar with the party’s internal workings.

Recall that Tinubu chose Kashim Shettima, the former governor of Borno State, as his running mate on Sunday following a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura.
His appeal to the resentful Governors and other party participants is further diminished by the uneven religious ticket that the Tinubu/Shettima ticket produces.
In response to criticism of the selection of Shettima, Naija News earlier claimed that Daniel Bwala, a party chieftain, had already announced his resignation.
Bwala stated that he is leaving the ruling party because of the ideals and convictions that he holds so dear in a message on his Twitter account on Sunday.
He continued by saying that right now, Nigeria needs us to work to bring the nation together.

The APC chieftain wrote, “Tonight I officially resigned my membership of @OfficialAPCNg on principles and conviction that I hold so dear. At this time of our national existence, our efforts and energy should gravitate towards uniting our people.
“Asiwaju has announced Kashim Shettima as his running mate. Kwankwaso is planning to announce a Pentecostal bishop as his running mate. Interesting times lie ahead.”
Also, sources claimed Senator Ishaku Abbo from Adamawa State, has allegedly resigned from all Tinubu’s campaign groups over the choice of Shettima which is regarded as insensitive to the religious plurality of Nigeria.
