Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, often known as “Jenifa,” has explained why she agreed to serve as Olajide Adediran, a.k.a. Jandor, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as his running partner for governor of Lagos.
According to earlier reports from Anaedoonline.ng, Funke won the job by defeating the other five candidates, including former governorship contender Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, former senatorial candidate for Lagos East Yeye Shobajo, additional nominee David Kolawole Vaughan, also known as DAKOVA, and engineer Teslim Balogun.
The sensational multi-talented Nollywood actress noted via her Instagram page on Tuesday that her strong passion to help contribute to the growth of youths, women, and children veered her toward the direction. She was recently announced as the deputy gubernatorial candidate for the opposition party, PDP.

She also argued that the high moral standards instilled in her by her noble parents gave her a strong sense of respect for human life and the dignity of labor, which inspired her to help the weak and needy in society.
She recognized the chance provided by the opposition party to enhance the welfare of the people of Lagos, particularly the girls, women, and young people.
She said; “Dear Lagosians, it’s important to share with you, my decision to venture into what I consider a much bigger facet of service to humanity.
“I am convinced it is best to hear directly from me with my known career in the entertainment industry spanning over 25 years, and the God-given grace to achieve quite remarkable success, I have had the privilege of access to work and engage with people from all walks and strata of life.

“Within this period, I have watched with great concern the plight of the less fortunate, especially in the youth category and this drifted me towards my less popular but equally strong passion which is to help and assist and contribute to the growth of youths, women and children.”
