The ruling party has been referred to as a political party of terrorists by the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, or HURIWA.
The group claims that it is now time for all patriotic Nigerians to vote against the current administration in the 2023 presidential election.
This comes after Kashim Shettima was announced as Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s running partner for the APC’s presidential nomination.

The selection is described by HURIWA as irresponsible, irrational, unpatriotic, and unconstitutional and clearly demonstrates that the Islamists and terrorists of the BOKO HARAM and ISWAP genre have actively hijacked APC. According to HURIWA, Shettima is nothing more than a hard-core Islamist and hater of Christians.
HURIWA argued that Nigerians must now pick between the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and that any vote for the APC is a vote for the breakup of Nigeria.
HURIWA pointed out that Kaduna State’s present Muslim-Muslim government has demonstrated that such a system does not benefit Christians.
According to HURIWA, Tinubu’s choice constitutes discrimination against non-Muslims and violates some provisions of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
