Christians have nothing to worry about if Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, is elected president in 2023, according to Festus Keyamo, the minister of state for labor and employment.

For approximately 40 years, according to Keyamo, Tinubu permitted his wife Oluremi to practice Christianity.

He emphasized how Tinubu even permitted his wife to work as a pastor while living under his house.

In a series of tweets, Keyamo wrote: “Nigerians & christians in particular, should have NOTHING TO FEAR in respect of a President & Commander-in-Chief (by God’s Grace and the votes of Nigerians, @officialABAT) who allowed his only wife to be a practicing Christian and a Pastor under the same roof for about 40 years!

“So, the APC comes to the table with two highly successful State Chief Executives who did excellently well in their states during their tenures, picked excellent successors (Fashola and Zulum) & a former First Lady and distinguished Senator. It is a case of buy one, get three free.”

Keyamo’s reassurance aims to allay concerns over Tinubu’s choice of a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

Kashim Shettima, a senator from the Borno State, was chosen by Tinubu as his running mate.

This runs counter to political stakeholders’ and pundits’ cries that he should choose a Christian from the north as his running mate.

Babachir Lawal, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), claimed that the Muslim-Muslim APC ticket was part of a larger Islamization effort.

If Tinubu wins in 2023, Lawal urged him not to allow himself to become an Islamic leader.
