The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) leadership met with Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, who promised to get involved in the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ (ASUU) ongoing strike.

On Wednesday in Ososgbo, Osun State, Tinubu and his running mate Kashim Shettima met with representatives of the student body.

The former governor of Lagos claimed in a video posted on Twitter by an APC member named Segun Dada that he made the decision to get involved in the strike as a result of President Muhammadu Buhari’s comments in the previous 48 hours, which left the door open for intervention.
