Seyi Makinde’s chief press secretary, Taiwo Adisa, has refuted the assertion that his boss skipped the Peoples Democratic Party rally because of a supposed conflict with Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate.
Adisa claimed on Friday that Governor Makinde had organized sufficient transportation for party members to get to Osogbo from the Ibadan Airport.
He added that Makinde’s absence had nothing to do with Atiku’s selection of Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of Delta State, as his running mate.
REVEALED: Why Wike Shunned Osun PDP Governorship Rally
Governor Makinde was not present at the event, according to the spokesman, since he was abroad attending to urgent matters in Europe at the same time as the Osogbo rally.
Adisa, while speaking with Tribune on Friday, said, “Apart from all these, the Chief of Staff to the Governor led officials of Oyo State to the rally.
“So, there is no truth in the speculations linking the absence of Makinde from the Osogbo rally to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s Vice Presidential candidacy.”
