The Emir of Birnin ‘Yandoto, Alhaji Aliyu Marafa, has been suspended by the government of Zamfara State, which is run by Governor Bello Matawalle, for granting a chieftaincy title to well-known and infamous bandit leader Ado Aleru.

According to a previous report, the emirate decided to give Aleru a traditional title in an effort to bring about long-term peace in the conflict-torn Tsafe and Yandoton Daji emirates as well as other regions of the Zamfara and Katsina states, which the terrorist and his fighters had repeatedly attacked.

Anaedoonline.ng learnt that the title conferment followed dialogue between the elders of the emirate and the terror leader.

Therefore, the government delegated management of the emirate’s affairs to Alhaji Mahe Garba Marafa, the district head of ‘Yandoto.
