In Awomama, Oru West LGA of Imo State, gunmen who are thought to be employees of the Ebubeagu security company are said to have killed seven wedding guests.
Reporters learned that the victims were killed on Sunday when they were returning to their village of Otulu in the state’s Oru East LGA.
Nnamdi Agbor, the president general of the Otulu community, informed reporters that seven people perished there and then, while others were still missing.

He said, “As they were going home, Ebubeagu operatives saw them on motorcycles and opened fire on them. As I speak to you, we have recovered seven bodies who are our people.”
He claimed that the 34 Artillery Brigade Command commander and the police commissioner had both been to the location.
CSP Mike Abattam, the state’s police public relations officer, confirmed the occurrence.
He declared that the incident was the subject of a police investigation.
