Nottingham Forest are looking into signing Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis.
The ambitious City Ground club has already spent more than £70 million on new players, including Taiwo Awoniyi, and they are not done yet as they strive to enhance their midfield and attack.

Dennis, who scored 10 Premier League goals for Watford despite their relegation last season, is considered as a less expensive alternative to the club’s top target Jesse Lingard, who is asking a weekly salary of £180,000.

Forest manager Steve Cooper, according to the Daily Mail, admires his quickness and adaptability, which he believes suit what Forest wants in their front line.

A number of clubs including Everton, West Ham, Newcastle United and Villarreal have been credited with interest and Watford want around £25m for the 24-year old.

The Nigeria international only cost Watford £3m when they signed him from Bruges a year ago and the proposed profit margin would represent another astute piece of transfer business by the club.

Dennis was on target for the Hornets in their 4-1 pre-season friendly win against Wycombe Wanderers at London Colney on Saturday.
