Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State will be chosen as the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress’ presidential campaign council, barring any last-minute scheming (APC).
Anaedoonline.ng is aware that the APC National Working Committee and President Muhammadu Buhari must both approve of his appointment (NWC).
Lalong will oversee the presidential campaign for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the nominee of the ruling party, while Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, a former governor of Edo State and former national chairman of the APC, will serve as Lalong’s deputy.

At a meeting held in Abuja on Monday, the APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu, his running partner Senator Kashim Shettima, and certain APC governors participated in the decision to choose the pair to lead the campaign.
Speaking to newsmen on Monday, Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, who had previously been considered for the position of campaign director general but was passed over because of his faith, declined to reveal who had been chosen to head the ruling party’s campaign.
According to a source who spoke to Newsmen, Governor Lalong and Oshiomhole will lead the campaign council as the directors general.
Following the party’s Muslim-Muslim ticket, some who supported Lalong contended that the APC needs a Northern Christian as DG to appease Northern Christians.
In the meantime, the ruling APC presidential campaign council has already appointed its media department’s leaders.

Festus Keyamo (SAN), the state’s minister of labor and employment, Dele Alake, a former commissioner of information and strategy for Lagos State, and Bayo Onanuga, publisher of PM News, were all named spokesmen for the APC campaign council, according to a high-ranking member of Bola Tinubu’s team.
“The media department of the APC campaign council will be run by a triumvirate of directors, made up of Dele Alake as director of strategic communications, Bayo Onanuga, director of media and publicity, and Festus Keyamo, director of public affairs and chief spokesman,” the source said.
