Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal, according to Adebayo Shittu, has bit the hand that fed him, the former minister of communications and director general of the Asiwaju Tinubu-Shettima Coalition for Good Governance.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, on Friday, July 6, some All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftains urged Nigerians not to support any joint ticket that did not include both Christians and Muslims. They claimed that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate, had made a fatal mistake that could have ended his campaign in the upcoming election.

Lawal and Dr. Yakubu Dogara, a former speaker of the House of Representatives, were among the leaders who urged Nigerians to reject the APC Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Reacting to Lawal’s campaign against Tinubu during an interview with Newsmen, Shittu stated that Lawal was once close to Tinubu and his actions were a sign of betrayal.
He said: “You cannot force an unwilling horse to drink water. Babachir is the closest Nigerian to Tinubu, and he has been touting this even when we were together as members of the same Federal Executive Council.
“He also never fails to mention that it was even Tinubu who recommended him to Buhari for the position of the SGF. If he now thinks the proper thing is for him to bite the finger that fed him, it is up to his conscience.”
