Some of the questions Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, is said to have posed to Atiku Abubakar, the PDP candidate for president.

As far as Anaedoonline.ng is aware, the two party leaders have been at odds ever since Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of Delta State, was announced as Atiku’s running mate for the 2023 elections.

Atiku and Wike met yesterday in Abuja at the request of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), which is chaired by Senator Walid Jibrin.

Atiku reportedly boasted that PDP may win the election next year without receiving many votes from Rivers State at the meeting held at the home of former Information and Culture Minister Prof. Jerry Gana.

According to reports, the presidential aspirant stated that Wike’s decision to not endorse him in the next elections was not a cause for concern.

According to reports, Atiku also mentioned that Wike’s attempts to profit from the presidential primaries caused the PDP to collapse.

However, Wike, who was informed of the events at the BOT meeting, reportedly expressed regret at Atiku’s recent remark regarding him.

“Wike joined issues with Atiku over his recent comments or pronouncements at the second meeting,” the source who pleaded anonymity said.

Wike, according to the source, asked Atiku the following questions: ”Did I tell you I want to be the next Minister of Petroleum Resources?
”Have I not been a minister before?
”Do you control Lagos and Kano, like President Muhammadu Buhari, if you don’t need Rivers?
”Have I asked for anything to support you?”

“Throughout the meeting, Wike was busy with posers to clear some impressions from Atiku’s camp in public space. Obviously, he was uncomfortable with some comments attributed to Atiku and some of his strategists.

“But the presidential candidate of the PDP was calm in managing the situation.”

It was heard that during a meeting with the BoT, Atiku and Wike “played” a game of hide and seek.
But BoT members have repeatedly urged Atiku to make amends with the Rivers governor.

Before yesterday, neither Wike nor Atiku expressed interest in a face-to-face meeting despite receiving invitation letters from the board.
