Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president, met with Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, on Sunday.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Obi met at his Lagos home.
Lere Olayinka, a supporter of Fayose, confirmed this in a tweet on his social media account.
With the caption: “Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi meets former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose in his Lagos mansion today,” Lere Olayinka had posted images of Fayose and the former governor of Anambra State.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Obi left the PDP after winning the party’s presidential nomination to run for president as the Labour Party’s nominee.
Although the reason for Obi’s visit with Fayose is unknown, there are rumors that the former governor of Ekiti may be considering supporting him in the 2023 race.
As a result of how Atiku Abubakar and other PDP officials treated Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State after the party’s primaries, Fayose had previously said that he would not support the PDP candidate.
