After being detained for several hours, Tanzanian police have released Kizz Daniel, a widely known as Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, a Nigerian singer.

The 28-year-old was reportedly detained by security personnel in the nation of East Africa on Monday, according to Anaedoonline.ng, which adds that the news sent the internet into a frenzy.

According to reports, the Buga musician was detained because he did not appear on Sunday night as part of his Afro Classic World Tour at the Warehouse, Old Nextdoor Arena in Tanzania.

Because Kizz Daniel was not present at the concert location, supporters were enraged and vandalized a portion of the venue.

As a result of Kizz Daniel’s no-show, the organizers, according to Anaedoonline.ng, had several of his crew members and him arrested by police from their hotel.

Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa has, however, confirmed in a terse statement on Monday night, via Twitter, that the singer has been freed from the custody of the Tanzanian police.

“He has just been released but his lawyers will report to the station tomorrow. He should be home anytime soon,” Dabiri tweeted in response to how the Nigerian Embassy in Tanzania was assisting Daniel.
