The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Tinubu and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, have engaged in a verbal spat.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the verbal conflict started after a claim that Tinubu was urged to step down for Obi and take care of his health in a letter from Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo, surfaced.

Akufo-Addo refuted the report, calling it a complete fabrication and malicious, and asserting that it is not his business to meddle in Nigeria’s politics or domestic affairs.

The Tinubu Campaign Organization responded by requesting on Wednesday that Obi instruct his supporters to stop disseminating untrue information about the APC presidential candidate.

The group claimed that the LP flag bearer’s followers have been spreading false information to the public, which has hurt the former governor of Lagos State’s reputation.

Obi quickly responded, saying it is incorrect to associate his followers with false allegations about Tinubu and demanding that all publications from the party are always officially signed and spelled out in a statement signed by his media adviser, Valentine Obienyem.

Nigerians, however, have expressed their opinions about the verbal combat between the two presidential candidates on social media.
