UPDATE: Gunmen Attack Osun First Lady, Kafayat Oyetola’s Convoy

According to Anaedoonline.ng, a convoy carrying the governor of Osun State’s wife, Kafayat Oyetola, was reportedly ambushed by hoodlums.

According to report, the attack on the Oyetola convoy that was traveling to Osogbo took place at 8 p.m. on Friday in Owode, Ede area of the state.

When the convoy approached at the Owode market junction, a witness and local resident named Alayande revealed that a truck had caused a traffic jam.

“It was while trying to make the truck driver move that altercation ensued between security men attached to the convoy.

“I heard several gunshots where I stood near the junction. It was dark but there was altercation between security men and some people suspected to be hoodlums,” he said.

However, as of the time this report was filed, specific information concerning the occurrence was still hazy.

The First Lady’s Information Officer, Oluwatunmise iluyomade, confirmed the incident and stated that although the convoy was attacked, no one was hurt.

“No life was lost in the incident. Some security personnel attached to the convoy sustained various degrees of injuries,” she said.

Yemisi Opalola, the spokeswoman for the Osun Police Command, has not yet commented on the event.
