Finally, Human Rights Lawyer Inibehe Effiong Regains Freedom

Inibehe Effiong, a human rights attorney, has been released after serving a month in the Uyo prison.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, on July 27, Justice Ekaette Obot imprisoned Effiong for allegedly disobeying the court by protesting the presence of armed police officers there.

When the incident happened, the attorney was in court defending Leo Ekpenyong, a lawyer, in a libel case brought by Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom.

To the waiting arms of friends and coworkers who had congregated along Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo, as early as 8:00 a.m., Effiong was seen in a recent live video leaving prison.
