Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has voiced optimism about defeating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election.

If the throng that greeted him in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, today would simply cast their votes for him, according to Kwankwaso, he would win the 2023 presidential election.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the former governor of Kano State made this remark while speaking with journalists in Maiduguri, Borno State.

When the election campaign gets underway next month, Kwankwaso predicted that the NNPP, which many Nigerians despise, will surprise them with its popularity. He said that Nigerians were already adopting the party that he founded a few months ago.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the candidate for president was in Borno today to inaugurate the party’s new office there.

Kwankwaso went on to say that he was pleased with how the crowd had welcomed him despite the torrential downpour today.

This, in his opinion, demonstrated how keen the Borno people were to depart from the status quo.

He said: “Look at how people came out; I was so excited, I was so happy that the people of Borno are now very ripe for a change.

“If only the people I saw on arrival yesterday will vote for us I can assure you we will win Borno.”

He added: “The more you know Kwankwaso the more you like him. The more you know kwankwasiyya the more the love.

“We will take that goodwill to the south as we have offices from ward to state levels all over Nigeria and we are fielding candidates for all positions across Nigeria.”

Kwankwaso praised President Muhammadu Buhari for approving the Electoral Act and urged everyone to support a free and fair election.

In response to rumors that he will step down for some candidates, Kwankwaso said the rumors are malicious and must be put an end to so that true contestants may run on issues.
