Former candidate for president Adamu Garba has proposed a way for Labour Party nominee Peter Obi to dissociate himself from the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Garba asked the former governor of Anambra State to schedule a news conference and label IPOB as a terrorist organization in a tweet sent on Sunday night through his verified Twitter account.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart urged Obi to follow the path of Northern leaders who disavowed their support for the bandits and Boko Haram terrorists terrorizing the area.

He wrote: “I have the formula to help Peter Obi dissociate himself from IPOB. Organize a press conference, call IPOB a terrorist organization, like all responsible Nigeria leaders did.

“He can take an example from Northern leaders on Boko Haram and bandits. Arewa house can be an excellent venue.”

According to Anaedoonline.ng, IPOB has repeatedly declared that the former governor of Anambra State is not a member and has never backed the movement for self-determination.

The pro-Biafra group also declared that it is unaffiliated with any political party and will not work with anyone, particularly leading up to the general elections in 2023.

Additionally, IPOB issued a warning to all Nigerian politicians not to associate the group with their politics or choice of candidates because they are not politicians and share no common interests.
