The federal government has granted the sum of N6.25 billion for the development of cow ranches across local councils in an effort to compensate ranchers for the losses they have suffered as a result of banditry activities in Katsina State.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Monday, August 29, 2022, Deputy Governor Mannir Yakubu acknowledged the development.
According to Anaedoon, Yakubu revealed the information today in Katsina at the Ranch Stakeholders’ Development conference.

He specified the local governments in Jibia, Batsari, Dutsinma, Safana, Danmusa, Kankara, Faskari, Sabuwa, and Dandume where the grazing reserves will be constructed.
In the areas where the reserves are located, Yakubu indicated that some of the money will be utilized to build schools, health centers, and veterinary clinics.
The deputy governor reaffirmed the commitment of the federal and state governments to guarantee the tranquil existence of cattle herders, reaffirming its commitment to combating kidnappers, cattle rustlers, and other crimes in the state.
“We are soliciting for the support and cooperation of the affected communities to provide suitable sites for the execution of these projects”, Yakubu said.
