The Redeemed Christian Church of God’s leadership has denied the online rumors that there was an explosion on the grounds of Redemption City.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the RCCG Public Relations Unit stated in a statement on Monday that the incident happened inside an Axella Gas depot when Sagamu-bound traffic was traveling between the Car Park C entrance and the Redemption City main gate.

The church further stated that the fire was put out thanks to the combined efforts of Lagos State’s and its Fire Service.

The statement partly reads, “Against the news making the round, the incident was completely outside of the Redemption City and our fire service team only responded as part of our community service support to our neighbours within the environ.

“We thank God the incident has been put under control and will like to inform all residents and visitors to the Redemption City that there is no scare of any sort and everyone can go about their lawful and godly activities. Thank you.”
