Following the suspension of the previous HoD who was accused of abusing the position, Dr. Kayode Olusanya has been named as the new Head of the Religious Studies Department (HoD) at the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun in Ogun State.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Dr. Olaniran Balogun, a senior lecturer at the university, oversaw the department until an arrest warrant was issued for him due to alleged wrongdoing that included, among other things, demanding for reward and sex in exchange for grades.
In a notice providing an update on Balogun’s case, the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) stated that “A warrant of arrest has been issued for his immediate arrest.”
Balogun has been instructed to present himself at the nearest police station or either of the ICPC state offices in Lagos or Ibadan right away.
Balogun’s suspension will continue to be in place, according to the university, until he is exonerated of all charges.
“He has been placed on interdiction until he clears himself of the various allegations levelled against him by the ICPC”, Deputy Registrar, Media and Corporate Relations of the varsity, Gbenga Omilola said.
Dr. Olusanya is now the officially appointed HoD, according to Omilola, who was speaking on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluwole Banjo.

TASUED pledged to use all of its resources to uphold the university’s long-established reputation and goodwill.
Omilola continued by saying that the university will not tolerate any staff member engaging in dishonest or corrupt behavior.
Balogun was urged by management to “immediately honor the ICPC’s call to clear himself.”
