This comes months after rumors surfaced that the APC would put Jonathan on the ballot for president in the general elections of 2023.
After a group bought the ruling party’s nomination form for the former president, the rumor gained momentum.
After Jonathan did not show up for the APC’s presidential screening, the rumors were put to rest.

On Tuesday, Kashim Shettima and Tinubu paid a visit to Jonathan.
Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the governor of Kwara State, and Simon Lalong, the governor of Plateau State are among the other APC members that joined Tinubu.
The former governor of Lagos State, who is vying to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari at the end of his term, may have a connection to the visit to the former president.
After visiting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Ogun State just a few days prior, Tinubu will now meet with Jonathan.
